Earth Hour 2012- March 31 at 8:30 p.m.

from the Earthour.org website:

More than 5,200 cities and towns in 135 countries worldwide switched off their lights for Earth Hour 2011, sending a powerful message for action on climate change. It also ushered in a new era with members going Beyond the Hour to commit to lasting action for the planet. Without a doubt, it’s shown how great things can be achieved when people come together for a common cause.

Find out more here.

If you are at home, consider switching off the electric lights and light some candles. It might a good time to tell stories to your kids, play a board game or go outside watch the stars.

Message from Ray Alfonso, RSMAS Facilities Director:

The RSMAS campus will again be participating in the annual event called Earth Hour<http://www.earthhour.org>. The University of Miami supports this initiative and would like to see our  involvement in it with buildings and lights across campus shut off for an hour from 8:30pm to 9:30pm on Saturday March 31st.

Please remember to shut off all the lights when they leave work on Friday/
