South Florida's NPR member station, WLRN (91.3FM) has sent a "correspondent" on a four day, urban adventure down Miami-Dade's canal system. We see plenty of turquoise blue, ocean water in South Florida. Now, we want to get a look at that murky, canal water that doesn't make it to the front of the postcards but is just as much a part of our lives.
Contributor Terence Canterella started his trip at Northeast 79th Street and Biscayne Bay yesterday (Monday) and is ending in Coral Gables on Thursday.
Our blog has regular updates and pictures from Terence, as well as interviews and background information on both the canoeist and the canals. People can also follow the adventure on twitter at #canoeproject.
And you can join us for a welcome back celebration for Terence at Scotty's Landing in Coconut Grove Thursday night.
Read about Terrence 's journey on the WLRN blog "Under the Sun" here.
