"The Waterlust Project, a new student-led effort at the University of Miami (UM)’s Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science (RSMAS), aims to re-ignite our common connections to water. Partnering with GoPro, an industry leader in sports cameras, Waterlust challenges scientists to communicate their work creatively through film and hopes to inspire people to really think about their relationship with the environment.
Students from RSMAS' MPO department have been helping Christine Beggs, a Master's student in Marine Affairs and Policy, film her Waterlust Project, "Sea Freedom." A short dance film exploring the freedom in our connection to the sea, Christine's Waterlust Project will appear on her own marine conservation media site, Project Blue Hope, in the Fall of 2012. Pictured here are MPO students helping with the film."
