Pangaea Exploration

Pangaea Exploration operates the expedition sailing vessel Sea Dragon. Over the past 2 years Sea Dragon has sailed a staggering 50,000 miles across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans carrying out important research on the state of the marine environment.
In 2012-2013 the team will continue their work in the Pacific with an expanding mix of partner organisations and scientific experts.
On each leg a new vibrant mix of individuals join the vessel as crew. Read more about how you can make a difference to conservation and be part of the team aboard the Sea Dragon.
The Sea Dragon sails to some of the most beautiful places in the world. View full 2012 Expedition Gallery.

Mission

We believe that the depth, complexity and sheer inertia of the threats to our oceans is significant. Practical solutions and the resources to implement them do still exist. The central challenge is our collective will to act, to care. We also believe that our ultimate success depends on a future generation of inspired conservationists.
We have a two-part mission.
  1. To actively strengthen the health of marine life through Exploration, Conservation and Education work.
  2. To inspire and develop a new generation of leaders in conservation science, communication, education, art and policy leadership.
Our role is to help bring these threats to scientists, policy makers, commercial leaders and everyday citizens. We at Pangaea Exploration support, enable, connect and sometimes, lead the many talented people working on marine conservation worldwide. We go to sea to observe, document, learn, listen and communicate. As J.Y. Cousteau believed, "we must go and see for ourselves".

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get Better. It's not
